Carbon chassis and new possibilities for commercial vehicles

Once again, a key theme of the spring show was the innovative carbon chassis technology from BORCO HÖHNS. It enables a higher payload while keeping weight low and offers particularly high corrosion resistance—a decisive advantage for sales vehicles in daily use. In combination with a trailer, sales vehicles with a sales counter length of up to 9.5 meters can be realized with a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tons. This creates new opportunities for retailers to present their goods attractively at weekly markets and events.

Another highlight of the exhibition was a completely rebuilt retro sales vehicle that combines classic vehicle aesthetics with modern technology. A 16.5-meter-long semi-trailer based on a Mercedes Actros also attracted a lot of attention. With its generous sales area, electric sliding counter, and high-quality interior, it sets new standards in mobile sales.

Digitization in sales vehicles

Digitalization in mobile commerce is also continuing to develop. With its “MyBorco” customer portal, BORCO HÖHNS offers a solution for the digital monitoring of refrigeration technology and vehicle data.

Multiple cooling points in the sales vehicle can be recorded in accordance with HACCP standards and automatically documented. For weekly market traders, this means greater certainty in maintaining the cold chain and a significant simplification of documentation.

At the same time, BORCO HÖHNS is increasingly relying on modern manufacturing technologies such as industrial 3D printing in order to produce components even more individually and efficiently.

Sales vehicles for every industry

Sales vehicles for almost every sector of mobile commerce were presented at the spring show. Visitors were able to find out about classic weekly market vehicles, modern food trucks, snack vehicles, and sales trailers. Solutions for larger catering operations and mobile kitchen containers, for example for events or disaster control, were also part of the exhibition. A total of more than 120 vehicles were on display at the site. These included new sales vehicles, high-quality used vehicles, and immediately available. Weekly market enjoys renewed popularity

One particularly encouraging sign is that the weekly market is regaining significant importance.
“Discussions during the spring show revealed that many market traders are very positive about the future,” says Carsten Götz, member of the management board at BORCO HÖHNS. “Many are already considering which new projects to launch and how to further develop their businesses.”

Young families in particular are increasingly discovering weekly markets for themselves. They are specifically looking for regional products, special delicacies, and new culinary ideas—offerings that traditional retailers often cannot provide.

A generational change in market trading is also becoming increasingly apparent. Younger entrepreneurs are increasingly taking over their parents’ businesses and bringing new ideas with them: for example, in the use of social media or in the modern presentation at the weekly market.

A professional appearance is becoming increasingly important

A neat and professional appearance is becoming increasingly important for market traders, both at the market itself and online. A high-quality sales vehicle or market vehicle plays a crucial role in this.

Many retailers report that a professional social media presence is increasingly attracting new customer groups to weekly markets.
